Looking to get an alternator rebuilt for wife/daughters LX470-same thing as a Land Cruiser. Have found a place in Richardson but curious if anyone has a place that still rebuilds them to recommend? Have had two or three remans conk out and think rebuilding the original might be a better route. I see some rebuild kits online with a voltage regulator and brushes but I have never opened an alternator up.

Any suggestions shoot them my way please.

Changing out a diode trio, brushes and regulator is not hard (just mark the case so you can clock it correctly when you put it back together) but that does not cover everything. We have a place in Austin (Texas Alternator that is very good. I don't know if they have a location up near you.

It is out of your way.... but Paris has a good place that rebuilds alternators and starters. Clint Barber is the owner. He used to also do all of my rear end work for both the CMC car and the dirt track car.

Bryan on the Lexus I would get the Denso brand reman off rockauto.

Lots of Toyota truck guys like them, they are remaned here in the USA in a Denso favility and done pretty good. 90% sure your factory alternator is a denso.

Thanks guys. Issue is generally when it goes out you don't want to wait on the part since the truck is down hence the oreilly's ones I have been through on warranty and why I saved the old one to be rebuilt for a spare. If buying a new one I would go with the Denso and it is a Denso.
