Mitch,
Do you keep an assortment of spoons by your keyboard just to stir stuff up?

(Just curious because I have no idea where this one is headed.)

Well I'll start then....
I found another second at MSRH this weekend.
5th gear on the front AND back straights now.
Car was hooked up...new passenger seat in...many rides given.

I dropped my engine and tranny out the bottom of my car on Saturday, but I didn't get much else done this weekend.

I will start moving stuff over to the other engine and try to put it back in this coming weekend and finish it up over the Thanksgiving holidays.

Must be the season for "CMC Motor Refresh" activities??? I was counting on watching football and eating turkey!

I'm already behind the power curve for 2007 I guess lol.

i'm just putting new gaskets in. after 80K daily driver miles and 2 years of CMC racing, the stock gaskets leak about 1 qt of oil a weekend of racing.

Not just a CMC phenomenon....I MUST stop doing exhibition and Instructor events....

Developed a light knock and hoping it's just a stuck lash adjuster....

i was tellin' Matt he outta run CMC........

well i hope its not a major issue. but this should make you think twice about telling people AI is just as cheep as CMC. thats 2 motors in a year.

Everyone should run CMC so we could have 25+ cars out there. Now that would be schweet!!!! Inverted starts would be challenging!!!

I was just reading GRM.
They are cobbling together a BMW for spec e30. How can that be cheaper than cmc?
Between their 2006 Challenge crap and this months fuel economy feature, I just dont understand those guys.
Editorials on 6cyl. tow vehicals and diesel stationwagons? WTF?
Has anyone ever gotten any useful info outta there?
I think they should drop the half hearted attempt at motorsports journalism to free up more space for pretty ads.
Ads such as Boudys'.
Thank You thank you Robert Boudreaux for the pretty ad in GRM!
I hope to see your mug in there next year.

I was inspired enough to walk to the mailbox, poof: my GRM has arrived!!

Page 128 is a beauty for those of us from the Texas Region, congrats again Jeff and Glenn. Nice pic of Mitch too, lol.

Nice job Boudy!

Too bad the actual Group A writeup is short and, well, basically stinks IMHO.

I would agree when compared to the last NASA-Tx write up ...

Mike Bell

Well, I wasn't fishing but thanks for the kind words. My writeup was actually a group effort and simply followed the format laid down by those before me. Guess we're spoiled down here in Texas? 8)

Actually, with a primary sponsor that is an engine builder...the motor is actually NOT the most expensive thing this year. Diesel for the tow vehicle and gas for the car have been the largest hole in my wallet. Tires were nearly free except the first set I bought (Thanks Toyo!)...

Basically, I am looking at it this way. If I have to refresh the motor and the crank is scared from a spun bearing....all more reason to get a NEW crank with a little more stroke! That way, I don't spend the money or time on getting 150 lbs out of the car...I just make more power! I think Dave Irwin might be on to something there....?!

And for the record, it's only 1 motor (yet to be verified) and 1 major head repair after the head gasket let loose....nothing catastrophic....yet!

There are rumors/discussion of more than one national magazine building a CMC car. (I believe GRM was one of them.) It could very well be that at the latest national magazine convention in Las Vegas, one of the poobahs told the other poobah to back off so that the grand poobah could be the only magazine with such an effort.

Consider me put in my place.

Some of us are known for the quips we make on the internet and some us are known for the 1/2 cars we drive.

Mitch...don't be so hard on yourself. I've always considered you to drive a whole car and not a half car.
