Clifton,
Sorry to hear about that. Can you post a quick bio so we all know what you do.

I know you're good at making "pee pee" speaches during Summer driver's meetings, but I don't know that there is an actual paying job for that. 8)

I am a draftsman by trade but have been in Sales and Project Management for the past 3 years in the HVAC industry. 6 years prior to that I was a prototype/production designer of mobile equipment. But, beggars can't be choosers.

Thanks

Sorry to hear that, Clifton! Definately sucks and this is the season for downsizing! If I hear of anything in the Waco area, in your field or not, we'll pass it on!

Sorry to hear that Clifton.

Bechtel has a huge construction project at Comanche Peak and needs all kinds of folks. I overheard that 100 folks a week are processing in.

http://www.bechtel.com/careers/

Shaw is also looking to add to it's workforce here as well. Lot's of opportunities in a lot of fields.

Rumor has it that Shaw (used to be Stone and Webster Engineering) has the inside track for the construction of the 2 (or 4) new nukes being built.

Glen Rose is about an hour away from Waco and I know a couple folks that drive from the lake down there to work at CP.

Hang in there Clifton, I'm sure you'll come out on top. If I here of anything open or anyone hiring will pass it along. Remember, when one door closes another one opens (or something like that).

If you go the Bechtel route let me know. I have a highschool friend that is with their corporate HR (I believe) group. She looked me up when she visited Houston last year and we had dinner. Lemme know...

I'm in the same boat but longer. I was laid-off on Nov 28th, still no job. My background is in Mechanical Design and the last 3 years in Commercial Architecture. The typical Autocad person, with 3D experience, willing to learn Solidworks or Pro-E too. I can forward my resume if needed.

TIA
