There are two ways from Dallas. I live in Carrollton and I take the 75/69 eastern route. People think it is longer but not much. From my house the I35 route is 307 miles, the 75/69 route is 318 miles. Friday rush hour in OKC can be bad, rush hour in Tulsa is not bad at all.

When will you be coming through the DFW area?Quote:

I'm thinking of trying a different route and avoid the toll roads. I'm gonna try 35N past OKC and take 51 east. 51 parallels Cimarron and intersects 99 about 15 miles south of the track.
The town of Jennings is a couple miles south of the track.
Coming from Austin I would do 35W thru Ft. Worth.
In OKC do I44E aka Turner Turnpike.
Don't do the Cimmeron.
On the Turner get off at the McDonalds at Stroud. Go north thru Drumright up thru Jennings. Road is a little narrow but is the way to go from OKC.
Glad to here your making it Morgan.
Should be a fun weekend.

Thanks guys for all the replies.
Actually I've taken the 75/69 route before last time I went to St. Louis. Very nice route if you want the scenic way, which we did. I think there would be way too many small towns with slow downs & stops on the way when pulling a rig. Right now I believe I'll follow JB's directions. I prefer the smothest shot w/ the least amt of stops. Although Mitch's planned route doesn't sound bad either.
Anything to lookout for such as land marks, strange roads, etc when trying to spot the road leading to the track?
I'm looking forward to the event. I *plan* on leaving some time Thursday before 11am so as to miss DFW rush our and hit hallett before night fall. I drive really really slow w/ my old rig (as a side note, fuel prices suck with the old 454). It is gonna be a long drive.
I'll be out there for Friday's run sessions as well.
North of Jennings, you'll be curving to the left and uphill. Armco barriers to protect severe slopeing shoulder drop offs. There is signage for the road to the track (which is to the left). But by the time you read it's too late if going too fast. If you make it to the Cimmeron Turnpike you went too far.
BTW, it's worth the drive hehe.

i fully expect to see lap times from the CMC guys better than the 1:29.6xx JB posted way back in '06. w/ the new surface, sould be some added grip and smoother braking zones.
i look forward to the post race comentary.
you guys have fun and be safe and dont let those "2 Dudes" pick on ya too much. i really wish i was going, but my plate is just way to full right now. and i'm not sure how i'm going to get to Nationals this year money wise, so i have had to cut stuff out where ever i can.
i hope this is the 1st annual of many more to come.
From my experience, the fastest way to Hallett is I-35 North to I-44 East ( Turner Turnpike, towards Tulsa ), exit Stroud, take the 99 North....just as JB describes. Track will be on your left side, just before the Cimarron Turnpike. From my house, I've done the trip in 4 hours.
The 99 is a bit narrow ( one lane each way ), but you can really cruise thru there.
Don't follow Bud's directions - he's on crack. ;)
Have a great weekend guys...wish I could go.
I sure wished I could afford to go..... right now I don't have a tranny anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered.
But you that go have a great time and keep off those pesky tire barriers.
I hope to make the SECOND Annual Rueth Racing Extravaganza. :D
Say what you will Adam, if you live between 75 and 35 both ways are about the same. The Indian Nation Tpk has a 75 mph limit and you can do 80 without a fear of a ticket.
