Just got a set (date coded 07) from tires direct. These things are as rare and expensive as truffles. Supposedly Phils has 8 but did not hear back...
Thanks for looking BL. I think the 300+ would fit 10s fine but not 9.5's.
Anyway...got some...see you in Houston where we can all sit up late at night and search craigslist for a set of 17s and 13" rotors in a direct swap for what I got.
No larger than that, unfortunately.Quote:

Call Bryan Shackleford at Toyo's Only. He and I spoke about this specific size for a CA competitor, and he didn't make it seem they were made out of unobtainium. Said all he had to do was make a phone call, and get them shipped from the East Coast.

FYI, I did call Bryan the other day - he, like many other dealers were all under the impression they could get the tires until they tried - now that I've gone through the cycle, what I can tell you is that there are very few if any sets of 18s at dealers and nothing newer than 2007....there was supposedly a magic stockpile in Texas but no one could put hands on. Some guys were being quoted 500 a tire for 07s!! I am so unimpressed with Toyo after 888s and this I can barely keep my natural Canadian civility. Oh, and I've heard that there was an issue last year with 07s cracking on inflation - if that happens to the set I've bought I'm running Hoosiers in AIX.Quote:
