Shaping up to be quite a battle. GET'EM Glenn.
AI practice seemed to be cut short with only three laps.
DD in 6th, MM in 7th, and MW no time.
I'm praying the power doesn't go out this weekend due to Ike for this tread alone! (and the live Timing and Scoring)
Go get 'em boyz!
Hmm...transponder problem with MFW? Hope nothing serious.Quote:

You guys keep posting up the times and results... I am working to where I barely have the chance to check this site.
Good Luck to all you guys... Kick some butt.
I talked to Glenn and he wanted me to let you all know that his PC has taken a dump.
He can't get to this site.
JJ
He needs to concentrate on one thing only and let other people update/access the forums. When I was up there, I couldn't believe how much some folks were online back to home...nothing against you guys, but it's freakin' busy and crazy ev-er-ry day. Couldn't imagine fielding a car AND updating the forums.

PS- Should we send Glenn's personal laptap tech up there....oh Mr. Wirtz!!!!
Ok, I know I am kind of slow, but are there really only 7 CMC cars there?
Yes. Glenn said that there were 2 no-shows as of today.
But, they just have to make the driver's meeting tonight. Qual is tomorrow.
posting from pda...
second practice session I was held up my daron...easily left a second on track. dynod after lunch and found I can drop 200 lbs out of the car.... spent third session removing 140 lbs from the car. session got cut short with a red flag for an aix car...
going to reweigh in the morning and shoot for some 35's and put these guys on their asses!
stickers are getting around too!
OK,
I bit off wAAy more than I can chew.
This reporting stuff is real work and I'm on vaca here so........
Best I can do with intermittant electricity here.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a ton of rain here so I may only get stills uploaded which I have many gig of.

2 goobers reporting
McComb is not the only CMC driver supersizing his entry - Schotz is running CMC, AI and PTx.
Group A ran very well - a few minor issues (FFR tapped the tire wall in the first session, but no major damage).
Chris McComb has become one fast SOB! Nice work, Chris.
Unfortunately, only 7 CMC cars this year, but we'll still have fun.
Driver's meeting went well, tomorrow is our first day of racing. Should be interesting with the weather coming in.....
Two words....Ni-sche.Quote:

Can we share the link on other sites? Very cool update and if you can do half as much each day, it would be greatly appreciated!!!
(give us a report on how Adam the Race Director is doing. :-)
Glenn's haulin' the flowers....FTD style!
I'm with Todd on this...racers focus on racing, vacationers...uhmmm vacation :o .
Post what you can when you can...if we get bored we can all do impersonations of our favorite Texas CMC/AI driver accepting the National Championship Trophy!!
Glenn...put 'em down..you are the man fer sure!!
MFW...200lbs??!!! Damn, you are gonna eat 'em alive.
Daron, Mason and DD...I am rooting for you TOO!!
Keep focused guys!
A huge thanks for the updates. It really helps when you can't be there. I'll be anxiously awaiting every last bit of information until Ike takes my power out. I'm going to be devastated if it doesn't come back on by the big races on Sunday.
Good luck guys.
Richard P.
Awesome updates!!! Glenn is the interview king. :)
Sounds like TX is flexing their muscles like always!! Glenn is at the tops of CMC and the TX AI guys all at the front ready to strike. I can't wait for tomorrow and the remainder of the weekend!!
Ya'll have a great weekend!!!!
rain moved in early last night...lots of steady rain and a bad cell went just north of us. can't see too far west on the radar on the pda but may get a dry spell till mid morning... on go the intermediate rains! next couple of days are going to get hairy....sunday predicted to be dry.
That is pathetic....... If I were Nasa I would probably not have one next year for any class less than 10 or 15 cars.Quote:

Light rain at first, followed by much heavier rain during the session.
Impound/tech has changed (for the better), and provided the RDs/SDs follow the prescribed methods, it will work great. Kudos to Todd for typing up an excellent tech sheet to hand to the tech folks - they are dig'n it.
Ok - off to get a rain poncho!
Glenn qualified 2nd for todays Qual race.
Mylaps looks to update almost instantly.

Well, it's either "The Great Equalizer" or Glenn changed his setup at the last minute to try and get an advantage. One or the other. :wink:Quote:

Feeling like shit for not being there, especially since I'm pretty sure we'll be out of power from tomorrow morning on...but GO TEXAS!!! :D
If your power goes out just get online and let us know so we can give you updates by phone. :)
What is up with the AIX guys - besides Griswold - times are way off...Quote:

Rain racing.
Rooster tail racing.
It's a "NASA-salute-to-Hurricane-Ike" racing.
Congrats to DD for taking 4th in AI....I'm going to "overthink" that some serious skill and some good rain tires were contributing factors.
Uhhh yeah...I guess.Quote:

Matts' not running full rains right? Just 6/32s? If that's the case then he's gonna make some moves in the dry. Or am I inferring too much here...maybe I should go back to my cocoa puffs :?
Schtoz AI car is just his CMC2 car with the restrictor plate pulled by the way.
I guess there is another John George out there running in the same group?
I grabbed the last set of rains at the track... the rest was all Skill...Quote:

Another 4th or better in tomorrow's race will put you on the front 2 rows for the big show with the leader in striking range!!!
Let's bring that National AI Championship to Texas!!! :D
The "John George" in Group A is an FFR driver, and nothing like the Texas John George.
AAMOF, he went off at the start and hit the concrete wall along the back straight, causing minor damage. Driver ok.
The tower was in pure disbelief that the CMC drivers were doing a standing start in the rain, and it went off great. Our group was, IMO, the best behaved on track with the fewest incidents.
The AIX drivers are running slicks (Hoosiers), ~500-600hp motors, and small clutches, so it's really no surprise they have difficulty in the rain.
Weather for tomorrow appears to be more of the same, possibly worse.
/No reports today, no a/c power, sorry.
This has gotta chap you Fulcrum boys.
These are legal BTW.

I am actually on 4/32 tires....did a couple of massive slide down the back straight at over 120...got a big thumbs up from the flag stand...most terrifying 20 minutes of my life but survived.
I have horse traded for some rains from robin burnett...he was reluctant to make the trade. hopefully I can improve in the rain today and pray for dry on sunday...but it isn't looking good for mfw...
btw... nats 2009 is at miller!!
to add to this. these are AI spec wings. the rule was re-written to allow for this very thing.Quote:

i'm now on the JB bandwagon. its total BS where this series is being allowed to be taken. we are now AIL (American Iron Light).
