its true that we touched. i've watched it several times now, and the movement looks pretty mutual to me. i moved towards him to help get the line and he moved towards me cause it looks like the right side of the track jogs to the left some. i was trying to close the gap between us, and he was looking to follow the edge of the track. we both moved into one another. there was pretty much no evidence of the contact post race. in fact, he didnt even know we touched till he watched the vid.
we didnt touch going into 3. agressive? yes. anything wrong w/ it? no.
as for out of class contact and who was to blame there.
i was on the tail of the CMC 1st place car. i dont think Jeremy could see the CMC-2 first place car. he has every right to race thru and i have every right to race to keep from him getting between me and the car i was racing.
i also talked w/ Jeremy Sunday (w/out seeing the vid) and i apologized to him for the contact. things are clear w/ me and him. no need for you guys to get involved.
and as far as the BS talk about the suit patch over the last few months. thats all in good fun. i was impressed that Jeremy caught me (mostly due to the off we had) and told him so.
that was hardly a dive bomb going into the turn off the front straight where i locked the brakes. JB got on his earlier than he had been for whatever reason an i reacted. i was already beside you when that hapened. the tires locked and i wasnt able to turn the same. but its not what i would call a dive bomb.
Awesome racing! I love watching this race from the different seats :)
Very good heads up avoidance going on there, several times!
Glenn, "brake dive" may not be the right term. But that is two races in a row where I have seen you put yourself in a position where you were not prepared for something happening different ahead of you than what you expected. I guess I drive more defensively than you do. It is also the second time in my racing career that you have passed me with the brakes locked - that always messes with my head. :)
Michael - does louder equal faster?
I'm working on the edit of R3 and R4. Unfortunately I spectacted for a lot of it. Fortunately, I got video of everyone else's cars.
First off, Glenn is correct here, I am not/was not upset about the entire 4/3 issue. I knew I was going to have to make some serious moves to pass two guys with the experience that Glenn and Birch have. Unfortunately I caused some major issues and upset a few people, was not my intention but it was the result. As far as Glenn moving over on me, It's aggressive racing! I think we should all try and give each other a few more inches of room. But it's racing, and we all know that in the moment, giving someone else some room is not really going through the brain. We race by the rules. I'm a rookie, one that has talked a lot of shit to Glenn and some others, I didn't expect a point by, and I didn't get one... I knew I was going to have to earn the position... and I failed...Quote:

But looking back, 2nd would have been much better for points than 7th...
Over the past week I have thought about many conversations I had at the track. I am going to have to be a little more precise with my moves. after all I still have an orange plate on my ass... I think we should all look at what we are doing, and the dangers we encounter due to the mistakes we make and mistakes of other drivers around. I don't want the "crazy ass" name, but I think the ink is already loaded in the gun. I will say this, I would rather drive on the limit with this group of guys, then down the streets of any city drivers...
The drama is going to be an issue, every class in every race series in the nation has it. But there is no reason to stir the pot. We are all friends, some better than others, but the bigger picture is the series. Less drama will be more inviting for people who are there to DE or spectate, and getting them to build a CMC/AI car is the goal, right?
Jeremiah and I both had mechanical free weekends for the most part. maybe the first time for each of us. This years rookies' cars are starting to get sorted, which has allowed us to play a little more, a little mentoring is all we are looking for. If we deserve an ass chewin, give it to us, if you think we need advice, give it to us. We know what we know, but we don't have a clue what you know...
Noted ... :twisted:Quote:

On a track where laptimes are 2 minutes in length and races that are ~15 minutes green to checkers, only leaves 7 laps or so to get the job done.
In classes where everything is supposedly matched closely, that leaves very few opportunities to make a pass. So opportunities are created.
The event breeds these kinds of moves.
Late braking, locking of tires, questionable moves, racing contact were a common occurrence from my POV in the middle of pack. Its not fair to string someone up just because it was captured on tape.
fair enough Rob. i've had a inconsistant performance as of late.

Funny. I would have guessed you already had, "Crazy" tatooed on your ass
Hate I missed such an action packed weekend. Alot of paint swiping by rookies and the usual veterans that always seem to put their paint on someone's car.
Just wait till ECR-I'm going to be working with MFW after I move to Plano next weekend and I have some ideas.
[quote="BryanL"][quote=Jeremy Gunter]I hate when people say that! The last time Jeremy "got an idea" I got in a car with "Todd Who" and look at me now! :shock:Quote:

Why? If its not caught on tape ... it didn't happen.
And everyone seems to have an issue with the contact between Glenn and Jeremy except for ... Glenn and Jeremy.
Jeremy can fight his own battles but I am going off what I saw on tape. He already had tires on the edge of the paving, gave you the inside to T4 respectfully then you move over on him while he is already on the edge of the paving....and you KNOW he is another class. It would be no different if it were me or Frank or David Love passing you. given you just locked up going into 6, my personal opinion is you were over driving for the situation that resulted in contact regardless of how minor it was.
As the over taking car, it was your responsibility to give room for the pass you had yet to complete and you took more than was necessary with a deliberate move to pinch the car on the outside.
The reason I am busting Glenn's balls a little is the last 3 events I have heard the statement " We in group 4 are looked at as the examples of how to race hard without contact, then we go out and look like a bunch of yahoos spinning out and filling out contact forms after each race".....paraphrased a little, but Glenn was one of the people who has said this TWICE.... I think he's right too!
Was this a topic of discussion in sunday's driver meeting? (I was instructing and may have missed it?)
My overall point is WHEN CMC/2 join, if the "questionable and bonehead" moves are put in check now....it COULD get ugly when we have 20 very fast CMC cars fighting really hard for a $3 piece of plastic.
I realize there is a lot of stuff happening in the heat of the battle on track, but maybe we as a group need to step back and look at what we are risking for ourselves and others...?
Again, these are my opinions only and not trying to rub Glenn raw here....but that my immediate take away. Your results may differ.
And the reason you wadded up yet another splitter is?Quote:

I've only gotten involved because of the "did it happen if it wasn't on tape" thing.
Prime example is R3.
My SD card took a shit but a driver left the track exiting T10.
Came back on and left again.
Came back on again at a 45* angle and damn near creamed me in the door.
Well, it didn't happen because my SD card took a shit and didn't record.

Let's get back on track guys...
This is the most important and best quote of this entire thread, and shows some serious learning.
I told Jeremy at the track, "patience" is sometimes tougher to learn than than racing to the front.Quote:

Lots of learnings....move along....nothing to see here....great racing....CMC2 was the group to watch for the first time in Texas IMO!!!

Give me a fucking break. that's the best you can come up with? I've been off track 3 times in 4 years of doing this and there are some in this group that have gone off 3 times in ONE RACE!!!Quote:

You trying to bust my balls over two events separated by 3 years is rediculous given the first time was a result of damaged caused by a wreck in front of me that cut a brake line.
