The Bitch is black and the Bitch is back!
New car fired for the first time today! Many thanks to Mitch for all the help over last few weeks and a big FU to Painless Wiring for taking a few years off my life - bastards!
Dyno scheduled for next weekend at GS Speed.
Congrats Glenn.
I felt the same way after installing a Painfull system.Quote:

Mine had been installed for years. That wasn't the issue.Quote:

By shear dumb luck I was I was looking for the PCM power wire and another wire pulled right out of the PCM connector. After de-pinning the connector, it was obvious that the pin was very poorly crimped and this was the reason the wire pulled out so easily. I soldered it on, re-installed it, and the car fired first try. Not bad for a complete re-wire.
This is the second wire I had pull out of the pin on this harness. The first one I wrote off as a fluke, now I'm calling it a piss poor product. I only live 10-15 minutes from thier office. I should drop by and give them a ear full.
Went to Cresson and watched Casey knock about 5 seconds off his laptimes. Watch out, boyz ...
Came home and looked in the trailer ... car was still there. Unloaded it, put it on the lift and got the list of stuff needed for Cresson completed.
Was also at Cresson with Casey... He was scrubbing in a new set of NT01... hey those tires ARE available!!!
Had a great time with the Casey's crew. Nice for my boys to have some "little ones" to pal around with.
Aaawwwww.... isn't that nice. Man, Rob steps in and Glenn gets soft. Congrats on the build.Quote:

Hey Gunter ~ I'm going to have a new mirror at TWS, just stay far enough in front to not "rub" on it.
That's just his internet personality.Quote:

That's five ...
Hauled up to Cresson Saturday night and stopped by Glenn's to try and help with the wiring issue - got there RIGHT as they got it figured out and fired it up for the first time. Close one - might've had to actually do some work if traffic had been a little lighter :D Glenn's car is looking great...very clean build.
Got some cheatin' bastard practice in on Sunday....still need to find several more seconds out there but it will come with time. Tough track to master.... Many, many thanks to Marshall & Mitch and for being there to help me out. Mindy and the kids had a great time hanging out with you both and I really appreciated the help and good advice.
Car dyno'ed this morning at Alamo.
263hp/309tq.
Alignment tomorrow.
Tons of shit to resolve after that.
Remount seat/modify back brace.
Build side morrors.

Reworked my exhaust system - AGAIN. It took more time to load the car, drive it to my friend's shop, and unload it than to fix it.
On the plus side, it only cost me a 12 pack of Corona.
Final items are installing new harnesses, and all new SFI padding.
Went to pick up my trailer to load the race car from the storage facility. Thieves had broken into the trailer. Only thing I had in there was a set of 888's.
they must have been NASA racers because they left them as they know that they are not allowed this year.
You need a new storage lot.

Wow!! There's definitely a story here and I'm pretty sure beer was involved at some point. Beyond that I'm just baffled as to how you're gonna get that all put back together in time to race this weekend.... Shit man, you're in worse shape than Neary and he's in race car hell right now. What's the scoop?
why did you do that and whats the new one look like?
The Canton sticker held up well.
Tornado hit your house and strip the car??
I like how it is sitting out by the curb for the garbage man to get. :D
Garbage men? Remember Wade lives in Bryan.
This is what happens when you leave your racecar outside at night. Keep yo' sh!t locked up!

Lucky stiff. I put the 17 shell on the curb and a neighbor called some buddies to come grab it. I can't justify the risk of cutting a tire on the truck or trailer at the scrap yard for the $50 or $60 that it would have brought. Plus, the last two times I tried to go on Saturday morning, I found a locked gate at 10 am with a sign that said "Open Saturdays 8-Noon."
I scrapped 1000lbs. Most of it was the car (600-700 lbs).
I got $87.50 for the steel. I paid $300 for it.
Scrapped 5 aluminum wheels this morning as well (thnaks Randy!) and got $70. 40lbs of battery lead - $26.
Made about $200 today.
I've made about $1000 this year scrapping stuff.
Glenn, where did you take the aluminum wheels? I have a set of 16x8's (heavy y2k Cobra knock-offs) that I need to list for sale but if no takers they will hit the scrap yard.
I recently scrapped the four cracked Konig wheels I had at a local recycler. 87 lbs - $53.
Richard P.
I just use a local place up the road. West loop 820 and Azel Ave.
Place is called J & J Metal Recycling Inc.
The only do non-ferous stuff.
Surely you can sell those for way more than $100. You wil get less than that for 4 of them. Mine are even worth that or more. But the 4 I had were bent and I had the one Randy gave me from MSR-C.
My 5 wheels were 94 lbs. Could have been 100, but I think Randy knocked 6lbs out of the one he gave me.Quote:

Good job Wade.
Just spent $100 on new roll-bar padding... since the rules are SOOOO concrete in their wording...
its been too long when you have spider webs on your rear wing
I had a family of spiders in my race seat!
Maybe we should get out more often!
