Todd used to live there... Rob is just up the road from you, I'm right off of SH249 just north of Spring CreekQuote:

The car is ready for paint on the front and rear fender flares. I have about 8 hours in the front flares and 2 hours in the rear flares, not counting what my dad did in bondo and primer. Paint should go on tomorrow. I'm interested to see how they turn out and how much track width I can get. I'll post up some pictures of everything I did to the fenders and post measurements after it is back on the ground.
Decals are pulled, glue was removed, and waiting for new CMC2 decals.
New shifter installed and O'Reilly "8 ball" knob is JB Welded on.
New intake gasket to fix oil leak and new front hubs.
I hope to have the car done and dyno'd next weekend with 1-week of relaxation before MSR-H.
SWEET!!!Quote:

I picked up a used Bob Earl and full G25 for $100.
(DFL - I'm back in my old neighborhood and likely moving closer to Randy in the coming months. Congrats on the Elder PooBah gig.)
What is a Bob Earl and full G25?
Today...I slept. Last night, while you guys were asleep, I went to work. I'm in Australia and everything is backwards
Michael's pretty little pony - good one.Quote:

Maybe you are as "out of touch" as they say...

Triple post, this thing is wacked out tonight.
Boudy
Or maybe it's just me.
Boudy
You figured it out... I painted the car as a giant Toyota "T" logo.Quote:

Simple rules for painting your race car the first time:
1) Don't pick a metallic color the first time out
1a) Just stick with one, simple, regular, normal color.
2) Don't paint in the dark
3) Don't put the car WAAAYYY back in the corner
It will be interesting to see how the tape comes off tonight. Love or hate the exterior, since the interior didn't get painted 'cause of the cold, it will look stupid up close. Guess that gives me something to do prior to Hallett.
I assume you used rattle cans.
You can re-pait it at Hallett. Just rent one of the deals like DFL did.Quote:

I'm pretty sure you guys will be able to see it on track. Not super happy with the way the paint went down - ton of orange peel. But, since it was last hour due to the cold, I was happy to get it presentable. It will pass 50/50 ok but don't get too close a look.
Now I just need to get that window sticker laminated up...
Dyno'd 260 hp / 294 tq.

Amazing since Matt says it has a tune in it. He can hear it.
Says he can hear 3 or 4 degrees of extra timing. Hell of an ear.
Flat tq curve though.....over 260 TQ at 2500 rpm's, over 275 from 3000 to 4700 rpms.

Fabulous numbers Michael!! Not so fabulous Jerry...but enough to win races :)
Maybe in the rain.Quote:

I don't think that oil cooler is CMC legal.
Built Gage's first racecar... for a preschool "car show". Cardboard doesn't accept spray paint very well so I had to cover the entire outside with aluminum foil tape... probably the most expensive "ride" at the show. LOL :D

A very nice replica. I'm particularly impressed at how the same basic aero qualities were captured.
:P
That's just freakin' awesome!!!!
Very cool, Marshall!!
Marshall, it looks like Gage's car is closer to race-ready than yours. :P
 I was proud of myself for making a nice little bracket for my Traqmate display yesterday up until the point I read Shortcutsleeping's post/pics
Is that model real or Memorex?
So i'm chasing the starter thing... right side of car on jackstands... grabbed the floor jack to take it down... nope.
So no paint skillz, no starter, no floor jack.
Good news is that I can pick up the passenger side with an engine hoist using the door bars. But can't get it out from under the car because the legs are too tall...
<sigh>
you have any ramps or boards the car could drive/roll off? Couple 2x8s maybe.Quote:
