After some reflection, maybe ole Doc Leinert can head out to Florida with his own special bag of medicine.
I bet he'd be fresh as May daisy come Cresson time.

wishes to the Marvel family for a speedy recovery... If it was his left leg, you can always figure out a way to make a sequential gearbox for the lemon and disquise it as a shit box so he doesn't have to worry about the clutch pedal 8)
Wow...that really sux. I hope Chris gets to feeling better soon.
Hey a new nickname for Chris ... "squid"Quote:

I'm REALLY looking forward to 3 months in a sling and months and months of rehab.
Been there, done that...still have the sling. Definately one of my longer rehabs...shoulders are damn complicated mechanisms. If you need recomendations on an ortho let me know...my Dr probably has tons of time on his hands since I stopped playing hockey :shock:Quote:

Dunno, Frank, is bone tougher to cut than most metal? I wouldn't want to dull up a blade or anything.
That's why I caution people about riding my overpowerd Z 50 Honda. I've seen plenty of adults lay it down and come up bleeding. The last was my dad from popping a wheelie at the Motorplex after my 65 Vette ran in the 12's.
Goes back to my adage that there are more injuries in the pits than out on the track. I mean who hasn't drawn blood while working on their car?
That sounds too clinical... who's made a blood sacrifice while working on their car... last minute... in the dark... in the mud... without the right tool?Quote:

I concur that if you are able to see a launch in person, do it!
Was able to watch this one 25 years ago.
16 April 12 1985
STS-51-D
Discovery 7

Kennedy Multiple comsat launches, first flight of a sitting politician in space, Jake Garn, first impromptu EVA of program to fix Syncom F3 (Leasat 3)

Have one more summit order coming with another 90-degree AN10 for the accusump and some roll cage padding.
Taking next weekend off since Michael is running LeMons, but should hear the beast fire after a long slumber in less than two weeks.
I mounted Al's old 888's on two of my rims, so it won't be a barn burner at Cresson, but I'll give it my best.
I'm getting the itch real bad to get it back on track.
I've been working at a test track just west of Mojave, California. We got buzzed twice by a B1 bomber at about 500 ft off the ground. I also realized that we've been driving right past Willow Springs Raceway twice a day since last weekend and that I missed a NASA race out there when I arrived last Sunday. Crap. I coulda shown those Cali boys how to drive. 8)
Yeah, you'll just "give it your best..." AI Vortex in da house!Quote:

Swelling was down enough by Sunday that they were able to put the tibia back together in an approx. five hour surgery. That apparenty went well.
In the same surgery, they also put a screw into his clavical to help with his separated shoulder. That makes the reality of crutches kind of grim.
They have hooked his leg into a motorized fixture that slowly exercises his knee joint over a range of motion. Sounds like fun.
He's still trapped in Florida. No word on when he'll be able to make it back to Houston.

Wow, that entire experience just doesn't sound pleasant. :(

Chris...best of luck man, get home and get better soon :?
I vote for a driver substitution if they would like to do so.
Or possibly its time for the car owner to step up and drive himself.
Dan?????
no kidding.... Get well soon Chris.Quote:

Massive gratitude to Michael and Marshall (and thank your Dad again for me please!) for their generosity!!
I was pretty sure that the first time MFW worked on my car it would be with a plasma cutter in one had and a big grin on his face, but the help with the tranny was much appreciated!
It's not official but safe to say we finally are under #3500 (yeah, pathetic but I feel better just getting to this point).
Oh, and we have a fourth gear...whooop!
Washed ECR grime off the car yesterday. Fixed the alignment issue and installed a new fuel tank w/ Mitch and Mike last weekend and also changed the oil and diff fluid last Sunday. Today? Gutted the rear half of the trailer in prep for a remodle. Patched a few holes in the roof of it too.
Off to the dyno next Sat at Alamo.
On track for MSR-C in 2 weeks.
Who has the Chris watch?Quote:

Mine fired for the first time since the end of April '09 yesterday... but only for about 5 seconds until enough oil reached the place where the oil filter should have been... knew I was missing something on the checklist.
After pumping at least three of the 12 quarts onto the floor, I shut it down, installed the oil filter and then warmed it up with no big issues.
One more weekend and it should be good to go in "X" trim for MSR-C.
