Yep, that’s the one
I am not representing Texas but look forward to seeing you there Al.

Yeah, a bit bummed nobody from Tx will be there in a knuckle dragger class
Just checked the entry list, looks like Texican't? :p
I can really only say this because one brave soul from my region signed up. Our best hope nonetheless.
word! time is money
Not for me, I'm on a salary. That logic should apply in about 7 years though.
Entry list looks awesome, which I could have made it.

Same here. Nats just aren't in the cards for me in the foreseeable future. If only I were a single NASA engineer with nothing but time and money. . . :D
Qualifying has been over for several hours and results are posted for everyone except Group C. Anyone know what's going on?
Richard P.
Hmm, looks like an LT1 4th gen just won nats. . .
What an awesome weekend. Have to congratulate all of the participants, we had tons of really good clean racing. Nasa did an awesome job live broadcasting...in a few days the videos will be posted for viewing any time. Kent Owens took CMC with the next four cars all within two seconds. AJ Hartmann is the AI champ after Lapaglia was DQ for having an engine mapping control switch within drivers reach. More details soon...
What happen to Cody? I was pretty hungover yesterday but pretty sure I did not see him in the final.
This should be good. Any "switch" should be a problem, i.e. not hard to wire in a bluetooth receiver and do it remotely. Possibly even a GPS module so the car knows where it is.
CONGRATS Kent!
I watched some of the coverage but missed the Champ race. Sounds like a good one to watch.
No way to police that without a black box in each car. Nothing keeping someone on your crew to remotely flash the tune wirelessly on the pace lap and re-flash on the cool down lap... the death of amateur hobby racing. Just like when “video killed the radio star...” :)
Nah, potentially just an oversight. Giving the benefit of the doubt since I don't know him, it could have been inadvertent.
Reminds me of a case of welded subframe connectors in plain sight that had been tech'd multiple times...
Sometimes the penalty needs to be harsh as the deterrent to others.
My car has an engine temp sensor disconnect switch. I havent needed it yet, but supposedly the TPI can be hard to warm restart and that switch is supposed to help. I suppose I need to get rid of that. You guys already mentioned it would probably cause a stink. Of course I wont be on any podiums anytime soon.....so no one cares yet.
Maybe his switch was similar......had a reliability function rather than adding power, but technically against the rules.
How can a Camaro win a CMC race......much less Nats? I thought that was impossible. Please I was just kidding. I don't want to start a war. LOL
JJ
Actually it was a firebird that won lol
It was comforting to see the AIM data on the top 2 cmc cars showing negligible acceleration differences, if anything the quickest being the 2nd place car of Wright.
What items were checked for compliance in CMC?
Lol!
Over the course of the weekend, we checked track width, sway bars, air dams, restrictor sizes vs dyno forms, rear camber, strut tower supports, and dynoed four cars. I did not send any of the top three to the dyno after the champ race; all had dynoed in front of me before, all had run nose to tail with no visible signs of advantage, and the AIM data did not show anything suspect.
