I have never even been to a nationals so what warm-up, practices, and races do we get? How long for each? I thought I read that we are getting one less practice or qual. race this year than usual?
Can someone send me a link?

Thursday – Optional Test/Tune
Friday – Practice, Qualifying Round 1, Qualifying Round 2 (best time from either session)
Saturday – Warmup, Qualifying Race
Sunday – Championship Races gridded by finishing position from Qualifying Race
Warmup and qualifying is usually 20 minutes or so if I remember correctly. Qualifying race is in the 25 minute range, the championship race is 45 minutes.

Thanks
NASA has also opened a test day slot for Wednesday 12-Sept.
150 car max
$799
Bring a bandaid for your butt
Yeah only $800.00 for a test day. Too rich for my blood.

I slacked on signing up for the Thursday test day.
Guess I'll just suck it up and get the cobwebs out on Friday.
This whole season I've struggled to find time to get seat time in the car, originally wanted to do the Chin event in August before nationals but the car isn't even back together yet.
I’m with you Stig. I’ll be hanging Thursday and running Friday.
Any idea of where we will be pitting?
What about the same place as we did for the last COTA race? That seemed to work well.
Any way Will can help us make that happen?
Guess the first question regarding paddock space is...who is showing up for wednesday practice?
For food...is the orange team volunteering some bbq time???
Team Incidental Contact will be arriving sometime Wednesday for Thursday practice. Let us know what we can offer to bring for food, drinks, etc. We'd also love to park with the rest of the CMC guys if possible.
There will be three of us from the Great Lakes region arriving late Wednesday. It would be nice to have the CMC in close proximity. Having never been to COTA I have no idea what to expect.

Upper paddock same as for May event. I will arrive Wednesday and block off a large section
Since there is a Wednesday test day with a mandatory 7:45 a.m. driver's meeting, I'm thinking the paddock will open Tuesday afternoon. Based on past events at COTA (that weren't anywhere as big as this), there will probably be a line waiting to get in for the land grab...
The preliminary schedule for the event is out. AI, CMC, and SE46 are in Group C with Adam Ginsberg as the race director.
Richard P.
If a director goes to Will instead of each of us and suggests something easy to make the whole AI/CMC race group happy and it doesn't interfere with any other group then I think it has a better chance of happening. I have never been to a nationals so I don't know if they ever try to organize any of the race groups in certain areas but it seems to make sense that most people enjoy pitting around their race group.
I'll arrive Thursday night. Richard-you about ruined by day like you did with the redshift margarita shower.
I was told I could come in on Tue. but I'm not doing Wed. or Thursday practice. I don't really understand. My RV will be parked in the RV park with hook-ups but I want to have the car and my tools and supplies with the rest of the CMC guys.

I would prefer Friday night since our championship race is at 10:10 on Sunday morning.
With most folks getting there Thursday at the latest, Friday night grub sounds really good..
agree Friday should be the party night.
Every night is party night.
Alright, who can get their hands on a real margarita machine?
I will be there sometime on Tuesday, I'm with Craig and the stig, every night is a party. If my liver doesn't hurt by Thursday I'm revoking my honorary Texas citizenship!
Friday BBQ
Do we know track limits yet for nats?
Nothing official but I would bet that the curbing will be in place at the exits of 11, 12, 15 and 20.
That would make the first half of the track very interesting!!
two wheels over apex you’re good. 4 wheels you’re getting black flagged if it’s intentional. At least that’s the way it has been in the past.
So do we still do standing starts at Nationals with all the other race groups running with us?
JJ
In past years where there were enough cars for a CMC field we did standing starts for the championship race...its tradition. This year, who knows. Maybe the race director will take a vote from the competitors or just simply continue the tradition. As far as qualifying races, etc I don't know.
With our trial run this year at COTA and the use of the F1 lights, we need to be ready for a standing start!!
