Correct! Jerry told me to look at this and I forgot to post up. A lot of money being spent with what appears to be fixing things the correct way. I hope NASA is talking to them about an event there next year. Doubt I will do COTA again.
that's awesome! We need this place
The club house and facilities look great now. The new owners are awesome. I will be there on the 17th and 18th of next month for TT event on the 1.5. I think that is the first event on the 1.5. The big track is supposed to be done by next May.
When does NASA TX anticipate to have next year's schedule posted or at least tentative?
I soooo want this to be back on the schedule for 2019!!!!
The track has great elevation and I just saw a drawing of some track changes that supposedly are taking place regarding the configuration. If the clubhouse and facilities are already upgraded then that is a step in the right direction!!
So the rain made them cancel everything till next year. It will be nice to have another track so close to home.

I was there today working on french drains. There is a lot of ground water out there that was never accounted for. They said there will be 3 miles of french drain when all is done. The new owner really seems to be doing this the right way. Here is a few pics I took today.

Very cool. I wish we could race there in Oct.

I saw this on another site and thought I would share. TDE has already scheduled a sept date on the grey course. Cant wait till next year!

This is going to be great!!!
I love the idea of a layout change to the slightly longer course. I also think running the short grey 1.65 mile track would be a blast!! It has such great elevation changes that would all be in such a short lap time. It better be back on the schedule for next year!!
First member day was today.

Here is one at speed. I might go by this weekend to see if I can catch a ride as the car is down for a bit. I can not wait till next year.

As a heads up, there is a potential "issue" with the current track configuration where a Miata rolled last week. Because of this, there will be no non-entrant passengers allowed at the Driver's Edge event this weekend. You are certainly welcome to come hang out with Josh and I but no ride...

No one went into details over the weekend, but apparently there have been several wrecks on the new track related to the cross over. We didn't have any issues with it over the weekend. The organizers did add some guide cones as the cross over is very high speed and quite blind.

Good weekend at the track, the new asphalt is very smooth. The configuration for the weekend was a 1.65 mile short course that we ran CCW. According to the general manager of the track, they will have a total of 6 configurations (2 short courses, big course, each CW/CCW).
We were able to chat with the owners for a while and walk the partially paved big track. It looks like it's going to be excellent. They're putting a whole bunch of time and money into redoing the track, hopefully properly. I was surprised to hear that they're using different techniques than COTA, which has had it's own issues with the ground moving.

The Driver's Edge is doing the recently completed reconfigured Eagle's Canyon big track this weekend. I'll be out there in my car with a new look and a few more ponies under the hood. Josh will probably be there. Come on out and say "Hi" and check out the new track if you're in the area. Eagle's isn't on next year's schedule yet but it's a good assumption that it is one of the TBDs. I think there are a few spots open if you want to do a little cheatin' bastard practice...

Wish I had my car back together. So much to do, so little time.
