Just give rights to a couple folks you think you can trust... usually. Shouldn't be much of an issue running it through them.
Can we make this a general thread about questions/issues with the new forum setup?
When I search for something, it only gives back results to about the time the change was made. I know there are more than 10 threads that contain the words Glenn, is, a.
Here's what I've found. It's kinda case sensitive.
Typing in the quick search...
glenn = 10 threads
Glenn = 120 threads
glenn is a = 120 threads
Glenn is a = 120 threads
Now the fun part. In advanced search...
glenn = 120 threads
Glenn = 120 threads
glenn is a = 10 threads
Glenn is a = 120 threads
*edit* Ok, scratch all that. Now I can't get only the 10 results back. *edit*
This really doesn't have anything to do with Glenn, it's just I figured it might be a common phrase :)
I was trying to search for the ironman thread I started, and it came back with 3 results, none mine. Found it later, just thought I'd bring up the strangeness of my search.
*edit 2* Try Schedule (has the same cap sensitive type responses) First 3-4 threads are 4/2011, 1 from 2009, maybe 10 from 2008, then 100+ from 2007 and earlier. Not complaining, just trying to provide data if it helps to debug *edit2*
new posts button is broken...
Any issues?
hmmm .... I did see the security statement discussed in the other thread.
But it created the thread anyway
Using IE9
Win 7 64bit
Seems like the content index (site uses Lucene?) is whacked...posts are persisted but index is messed up so things like new posts query and last updated appear 'fused.
Was there an update or new plugin added recently?
From another user ...

I have to right click and open in new tab. Once there, I have to do the same
again to open a thread. I have the same site Jerry posted about trying to load
at the lower left of the IE page. The status bar (for a loading page) stops
about half way. I can't even close IE. I have to use task manager and even then
It takes a few seconds to respond. Something bad is up w/ the site. Since you
can post, relay this to them please.
From what I can see, the thread reply counter is not increasing, even when I refresh the browser window. My post makes 10 total replies (not including Mitch's original post), yet the counter shows 0.
seems like the new posts button is back - still getting that other error error James?
It seems to be working good now.
Thanks Jeff.
Seems there was a vulnerability with the software leading to the site being compromised.
A security update has been installed and all infected files have been cured.
I strongly suggest everyone run a virus scan.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for checking into it Jeff....they don't call it the Wild Wild Web for nothing...oh, it's not called that? It should be...
Another "thank you" here.It's nice having a place to blame Glenn for everything.
I give up... how do i get a carriage return? All my lines run together and i can't do any paragraphs. who knows, i can't ge the car to run, it could just be me.
How many posts does one need before they become Carroll Shelby? I need to stop one short of that and create a new profile. :)
So I can get on the main NASA forums from work but the Texas website is blocked be because it's "sports" that sucks and I wanna be able to waste hours I'm supposed to be working on the forum! Anything that can be done with redesigning the website ?! Lol
