Since 2006 I've run xp8's on the rear. I know a bunch of folks run cheap pads on the back. I'm looking for good recommendations, or will any ol' cheap pad work? i didnt see performance friction listed at autozone for an lt1 and i know some use those. any issues w the cheap pads crapping out (fading, cracking, etc) once the bias is dialed in?
I just use the $35 pads from O'Reilly and I have 13" Baer claws with slotted/cross drilled rotors (way more back brake than I need) and no brake prop valve and I get about half a season out of one set of pads.
The Baer calipers are the same as the '93-'98 camaro so we use the same pads.
93-97 Camaro's have a different caliper than the 98-02's. So my guess is you are using the 93-97's?Quote:

I think mine end up having pieces crack on them before they get worn down I assume due to the heat-though I don't have a bias valve either.
