Thank you,
John,
For our dirt track car we just melted some down from wheel weights into a valve cover.
But you can buy them here:

I think you should weld a couple of boat anchors into the cage structure, say right along the roof line, and a third anchor in front of the radiator support. That should help.
Shoot, just trade cars with me! Mine's well overweight (or under-powered, depending on the state of your racing budget.) :D
John,
There is a metal supply company right down the street that I can get torch cut steel in any thickness and dimension (as long as it is basically retangular). All you will have to do is drill the holes. The edges won't be pretty, but hey, it's ballast.
If you need me to get any for you and bring to MSR-H, I can. Just give me a call 972-998-8885.
John,
I've typically just gone to the yellow pages and looked for scrap metal companies and such. They typically have some pretty cool selections of lead and other ballast. If you need to borrow some, I've got a 46# bar with mounting ears.

Thanks for the replies guys, I do greatly appreciate it.
I picked up some lead yesterday at Smiley's. 50lbs is $60. :-(
John, I will find out what a friend of our from the lake did with about 300# of lead they found in their anchor locker of their boat....don't you need that much anyway?! :wink:Quote:
