    vehicle speed sensor

Do I need to hook it up? Wayne thought my car was not running perfect and from what I read maybe I need to hook it up?
Is it needed in a race car?

Nope... It is only needed for the cruise control, and hopefully you aren't using that function anymore.

I don't even have that in the tranny anymore. I have a rubber plug siliconed in the hole.

Not quite true. EEC-IV uses the VCC input to also modulate the idle dashpot function when tranditioning from driving in gear to coasting at low speeds (like when pulling up to a stop sign). My car would frequently stall without the VCC signal until I ran that circuit from the cruise control module to the ECU.
