    Rule of the Day - Required Safety Equipment

    Did anyone else see this???

    ++++++++++++++++++++
    CCR 2009.6 (revised 3/23/09)

    15.18 Lug Nuts - All competition vehicles must use open type wheel lug nuts with enough threads exposed to be able to double nut each of the wheel studs with a minimum of 4.5 threads exposed. If aircraft style lock nuts are employed a minimum of 4.5 threads must be exposed and the requirement for double nutting is waived.

    I actually did read this one and wasn't too happy... I'm ok with steel rims but need longer ones for the GTAs... reminder: buy new studs before next event

    thats a non-standard requirement.
    1 diameter of the stud should extend past the threaded portion of the nut. this is an ANSI bolt standard in aviation. i have the book somewhere.
