    There is no "expiration date" on a 38.1 compliant HANS device like there is for helmets, belts, etc.

    It is a good question for National though. In any accident, it is usually customary to retire the belts as "used". I would imagine in a hard enough hit, the tethers and possibly the side restraint net might need to be assessed as well. Just a thought.

    After I used the tirewall at Mid-Ohio to stop the racecar, I sent mine to H&D, they recertified it for ~$35

    I also replaced a 1 weekend old set of seat belts... I cut the hardware off and tossed everything in the trash.

    Good insurance...

    Now I just need to finish the repairs on the car... LOL!
