    Cool shirt install question

    I am working on an install for a cool shirt setup. I have the basic FAST FA217 setup with the tiny pump and cooler. My question is does anyone get cold when using the system? I will have the on/off switch where I can reach it, is that good enough or should I install a regulator?

    The only time I have gotten cold is if I turn it on before I hit the track. Once you are racing, you won't even be able to tell it's too cold. I guess that condition really doesn't exist when you are racing... well maybe if you are doing an ice rally over in Europe or something.

    Just be prepared to blow through the entire bit of ice in the 40-minute race. They really don't last as long as one would want them to.

    I just bought a 38 quart igloo cooler to be a "piggy back" for next year's enduro to extend the range of the system. 8)

    Like Marshall said... I can't even tell I have it on during a race, but it sure does help during grid and you will notice you are not so hot afterwards.

    Just put in a Cool Shirt system. Could not find any instructions if there were any....

    Anyone running on put a fuse inline with the supply wire? What size?

    Now that it is in the car I bet it will be 58 deg and rainy all weekend.

    best route to take if you dont have a multimeter w/ the ability to read amps is to just install a small fuse and keep doing up till it doesnt blow it. my bet is a 15 amp fuse is plenty, a 20 will be fine, a 30 and you risk a slow delay that could cause the insulation to get just hot enough to get soft and allow the wire to come in contact w/ ground.
    your amp draw on the circuit is greatest right as the pump starts. once its runing, it will be at its lowest draw.
