Is this sound deadener as well? Can it be removed safely?

I have removed all of the main sound deadener from the vehicle but I have seen a lot of this spray foam insulation on seams inside the vehicle. Is it sound deadener as well? Can it be removed safely from the seams?

I have knocked a few spots off and it doesnt seem like it will cause any issues but I wanted to get second opinions before going crazy with the wire wheel.

Its really seam sealer to keep moisture from weeping between the spot welded body seams.

There should be no issue in removing it.

There also is not a whole lot to gain by removing it based upon the effort it takes to get rid of it.

It does clean up the interior quite a bit, though.

I removed my sound deadener, but am leaving the seam sealer.
