    Pit Bike

Really looking for suggestions / recommendations.
I have a co-worker that has a 98 Honda XR70 and wants $400 for it. It is very clean and he is always super meticulous with his other bikes.

    Is this a fair price?
    Offer $300?
I have never owned a bike and know very little about them so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I don't know the first thing about bikes, but after Laura did some research, we paid $400 for the older Yamaha 50cc. Stay away from the ones that some 20y/o guy is selling, they will be ragged on / jumped / flown.

    A quick scan on Craigslist has XR70's: a ragged '97 for $350, '01s for $750 & $800, '02 for $700, $975, '03s for $820, $900, for $1200.

$400 sounds like a good deal if it's in good shape. Can't hurt to ask $350.

$400.00 is a good price if it's in any kind of shape. The four stroke Hondas will last forever.

Or ones owned by racers who let their friends run over chairs with them. The 4 stroke 50 I have is 30 years old and just had its first oil change. I think they still use the same motor in their new models.

Sounds like a good deal if its been taken care of. The issue with all bikes now is the gas gumming up the carb. I'm just going to start running race gas in mine.

Might want to check out the cheap chinese bikes. My neighbor has one for his kid and I rode it around recently and it seemed pretty good.

Dang I didn't realize how much my Z50 is worth after looking at craigslist. Maybe I won't let it be the midnight fun at the track anymore.

I asked my dad that question back in '91. He said since Honda doesn't race the XR line, they have no reason for it to "evolve". According to Honda it's just fine the way it is.

I really like the Ruckus but $425.00 each for the China bike is a great deal. I could throw it away every other two years. The Ruckus is way over priced new or used. Wish I had seen these first.

Parts are impossible to find for these Chinese crap cans, might as well throw them away. Of course, JJ you could probably make your own lol

I'm going to look at the bike on Saturday. If it is good I'll offer $350 but pay $400 if I have to. It is crazy an adult can get so much enjoyment out of a kids motorcycle. If I grew up with motorcycles I doubt I would still be alive, they are too much freakin fun!!!
