Koni SA adjuster will not turn

Prior to Hallett I had all my shocks/struts dyno tested at PST. The rears were bad so I purchased two new. The fronts tested okay but at Hallett on the first day I could not turn the adjuster knob on the right front strut. I removed it yesterday and it is toast. I pushed it down but it does not return to open. What caused this?
We installed new bumpstops because we were going to make sure they did not bottom out.

I have four Koni front struts. One still has a functioning adjuster. I'll be going to AST's or custom valved Bilsteins next time.

Pulled my front konis. They pushed down with ease, and no rebound. Toast.
Replaced with new ASTs. That will be another 2 seconds.
