    Tow Eyes

What is considered to "protrude dangerously from the car"?
Is something a la this acceptable?

I'm not a fan of the strap method (how would it not pull the bumper cover off?). That method or a trick collapsable D-ring setup will both require more fabrication.

The plain plate of steel with a hole in it seems so easy to make (for less than the 50$ places like the above are asking) and simple to install.

That's what I have on the front of mine. On F-bodies noses you can easily angle it up and forward from the frame to stick out where one of the headlights used to be. This keeps it back enough to not be a lance. 8)

I'm not a fan of those due to close racing here.
I get a little close sometimes and your liability goes up with those spear head bumper openers.

Wrap a 1 inch reinforced tow strap around your bumper support and be done with it. 10 bucks and 10,ooo lbs strength, 5 second install. I also like to have my car free from obstructions. Plus I am lazy.
