Pip's birthday- Friday Night BBQ TWS
OK guys so as it turns out Pip has a birthday every year.....who knew? Really though, my girl is who makes all this happen for me and I'd love for her to spend her birthday with the folks we both love. Once again our Iron Chefs have graciously agreed to cook for a friday evening feast. Would be great if a few folks could bring some sides etc. Look forward to seeing ya'll

As a wise man said, in order to finish first, first you must show up.
Hey Craig, you looking for anything more structured than just random? I'm in for bringing a side to the Friday fest.

Martin's got the cake
Got the engine back today... new bearings, cam, lifters, pushrods, valves, screw in studs, adjustable guideplates, springs, retainers, rocker arms... ugh.
It's "in the car". I have about another hour and a half to get it started... I'll try and get a few heat cycles in the engine to put a wear pattern on the bearings before getting it on the trailer.
Also completely redid the chassis side of the 3-link mounting..
Gotta love coming down to the wire.

Wear pattern on bearings? I thought rings broke in and bearings wore out.

Rings are "old" in this case so already have a good pattern on the cylinder walls. Bearings just need to get happy with the crank.

You gotta make sure you wear through the babbit and have copper showing for the bearings to be broken in properly.
Make sure your oil filter is full of copper looking paste after break in.
This way you know your engine will have a great, long life.
